Mavuika and Citlali Together - Everything We Know About 5.3
The highly anticipated 5.3 update for Genshin Impact is just around the corner and HoYo Verse finally dropped the drip marketing for Mavuika and Citlali about a week later than we were expecting. The important question now is, who would you pull for? We are super hyped to pull for Mavuika but honestly, we all want both characters. Let’s just hope that our primo gems are enough to pull them both.
On top of that, the upcoming 5.3 update is shaping up to be one of the most exciting yet, especially with the shake up to the banner system. While it is exciting, it is also a tough time for F2P players. Whether you are saving primo gems, planning your pulls or just here for all the information and rumors, let us jump straight to the article to find out. In this article, we’ll break down everything you need to know about the 5.3 update, including the new banners, upcoming events, primogem rewards, and more. Whether you're a veteran player planning your pulls or a free-to-play player saving for your next big wish, this guide will help you navigate what promises to be an actionpacked update.
Banner News:
Let’s break down all the new information we have including these two brand new characters and chronicled wish banner. We are getting two brand new 5-star characters Mavuika and Citlali, which is pretty rare to see two fresh characters in the same phase but its happening. Mavuika the Pyro archon, wields a claymore and has a kit that involves a motorcycle and night spirit mechanics. She is expected to be one of the strongest characters yet. Citlali on the other hand is cryo support or sub DPS with elemental shields and off field Cryo application. Her utility makes her a great pick for many team compositions. For F2P players choosing between these two amazing characters is going to be a real challenge.
In phase two we will see the rerun for Clorinde and Arlecchino. Clorinde is an electro DPS with flashy and powerful abilities, while Arlecchino remains one of the most popular characters from fontaine. Both banners are tempting, if you missed them especially during their initial runs. Adding to the excitement, version 5.3 will feature a chronicled wish focused on Liyue Characters. While the exact line up is not confirmed, speculations suggests big names like Ganyu, Xiao, Yelan and Baizhu alongside standard characters like Kequing and Qiqi. Just remember that some of this information are not confirmed and they can be subject to change but if it is true then, with such a stacked banner lineup, deciding where to spend your primo gems will be tough decision, specially for F2P players.
Free Rewards:
When it comes to free rewards we can happily say that we have a lot. Lantern Rite is coming up in 5.3 and it is confirmed with the main event photos and a brand new Liyue character that will be free in the Liyue selector. We can also get Lan Yan from this for free since she is also a Liyue 4- star character. When we take a look at the free rewards, first free reward will be the Xiangling Skin. In 5.3 both Hu Tao and Xiangling will get 4-star skins but of course Hu Tao’s skin is going to be a paid one. We have no information on how it looks but only thing we know is a code name called Winter. The skins in the Beta are called Xiangling/Hu Tao Winter and we wonder it could be a winter themed skin. We will also be getting 10 pulls and three wishes from the Lantern Rite event.
Lastly, we have the Imaginarium Theater rewards. This time Kazhuha and Ganyu will be getting running trails and both look really good and way better than what Zhongli had in the first beta. We will also be getting photo poses with the running trails, yes both rewards are in this version. The poses are for Bennet, Childe, Yae Miko, and Lynette. As always, there is also going to be tons of new teapot stuff and in 5.3 and we will be able to unlock the Natlan version of the teapot this time. Additionally, we have some new food stuff and TCG cards for Mualani and Clorinde.
Primogems:
Starting with the dailies, we will be getting 2520 (42*60) Primogems. From events we will be getting 1K from the main event and 420 each from 3 small events. That total is 2260 primo gems and since we have the Lantern Rite, we will be getting a daily login event that gives 10 wishes. Also, three wishes in the mail which means 13 wishes extra from the Lantern Rite. 5.3 will feature the Archon quest and means there will be 940 gems. 240 gems will be given for completing both Mavuika and Citlali’s story quests. We are not sure if there is a Hu Tao story quest but there is rumor that it might be there. Additionally, 600 gems from bugfixes, 300 from the livestream and 80 gems from character test runs. The shop will reset once, meaning 800 primogems and lastly the end game rewards. There will be two Imaginarium Theater resets meaning 440 each if we take stage 6 as the end. The abyss will reset only once so 600 gems if we take floor 11 as the end. When everything combined, total primogem count would be 11,300 or 70.6 wishes for 5.3 as a whole. Since there is not a new map, there will be no exploration, which means there is a very good chance that 70 wishes is all we get.
Although the counts are that, the first half is kind of in a danger. We usually have the main event in the first phase with another small event and this time the main event is Lantern Rite. The problem is that it has always gone live in January or early February and during 2.4 it was actually in the second half. If they don’t make it early, everyone will be missing big on the first half. Since the Rite is inspired by the Chinese New Year, they are most likely to held the Lantern Rite in the second half. If that would be the case in 5.3, we will be missing out on 2180 primogems or 13.6 wishes. Therefore, our Mavuika pulls will mostly depend on when the lantern Rite will be and we would advise you to save, if you are looking for Mavuika and her weapon.
Quality of Life Improvements:
There are few things that we found interesting. The first thing is that Citlali’s home will be open, artifact recommendations are added and new artifacts sorting adds a recommended sorting option based on the characters recommended stats. New panel highlight setting will be there to highlights recommended stats in the character interface. Enhanced progression guide adds recommendation for weapon and artifact combinations for characters. And there is better boss spawning- you don’t have to teleport to spawn world bosses, it will spawn in 5 seconds after receiving rewards. With the new quick access feature, there will be fast track access to Natlan’s weekly bounties.
Conclusion:
With all the exciting content coming in the 5.3 update, there’s no doubt that it will bring plenty of opportunities for both new and veteran players alike. From the introduction of two powerful new characters to a wealth of free rewards, there’s something for everyone to look forward to. However, the abundance of choices, particularly for F2P players, means careful planning is essential to maximize your primogem spending. Whether you're pulling for Muvika and Citlali or gearing up for the Lantern Rite event, make sure to stay informed about the release schedule and upcoming bonuses. With the addition of new quality-of-life features and rewards, Genshin Impact continues to improve, ensuring that every update brings something fresh and exciting to the world of Teyvat.
