In this guide, we'll delve into Emilie's abilities, strengths, weaknesses, and potential team compositions to help you make an informed decision.

Who is Emilie:

In Fontaine, she is a well-known perfume designer, and her creations are highly sought after by the city's fashionable women. According to Calcagni, Emilie runs her own business and is friends with Chevreuse, assisting her in solving challenging cases. During the Roses and Muskets event, Emilie was able to identify the exact growing location of a Rainbow Rose cultivar found at a crime scene, aiding Chevreuse in her investigation. Emilie also has a hidden role as a forensic cleaner, where she investigates crime scenes and uncovers criminal secrets that would otherwise remain hidden. She is described as a "Fontainian perfumer, one who bottles secrets."

Is Emilie Worth Pulling?

Players are excited about Emilie since she is a brand-new character and eagerly waiting for her release. However, players may debate whether she is worth pulling for, given the abundance of strong Sub-DPS characters in the game. The decision to pull for Emilie ultimately depends on individual playstyle, account needs, and resource management. It is important to consider the following factors before making a decision:

- Account Composition: Evaluate your current roster and identify any gaps that Emilie can fill.

- Team Synergy: Consider how Emilie fits into your existing teams and if she can significantly enhance their performance.

- Primogem Reserves: Assess your Primogem stash and determine if pulling for Emilie aligns with your long-term plans.

- Personal Preference: Ultimately, if you're drawn to Emilie's character design or playstyle, her value might extend beyond meta considerations.

As we move towards Natlan, the nation of fire, Emilie's abilities will likely become more valuable with the introduction of more Pyro characters. We also received a new artifact set, Unfinished Reverie, in version 4.6, which focuses on the burning reaction and might be suitable for her.

To make Emilie one of the strongest Sub-DPS units, her signature weapon is highly recommended. If you plan to fully build Emilie, especially for upcoming Natlan characters, investing in her signature weapon along with spare Primogems is advisable. Emilie's signature weapon significantly enhances her kit, enabling her to use her Elemental Burst every two rotations without needing extra energy. This weapon boosts her damage output and ease of use considerably, making it more valuable than her first constellation. However, it isn't essential for getting the best out of her kit, as there are other viable weapon options available for her.

To maximize Emilie's potential, understanding her best build is also essential. If you have strong Pyro characters like Lyney or Arlecchino, pulling for Emilie might be worthwhile, as she excels in dealing damage when enemies are burning nearby and allows main DPS units more on-field time, making her a good choice if you have strong Mono-Pyro teams. Other than her decent abilities and being able to deal good off-field damage, her kit is very normal for a 5-star character.

Emilie's Kit Breakdown

- Element: Dendro

- Weapon: Polearm

- Role: Sub-DPS/Support

Emilie is a powerful off-field Sub-DPS five-star character specializing in Dendro. In Genshin Impact 4.8, Emilie will be featured in the second phase banners, and upon her release, her signature weapon Lumidouce Energy will also be released. Her abilities are closely tied to the Burning reaction, which allows her to deal substantial damage when enemies are burning nearby. Her elemental skill deploys a Dendro pod that deals continuous single-target Dendro damage to nearby enemies, even when she is off-field. When allies trigger the Burning reaction near the pods, the pods enhance and deal increased damage.

She is especially effective in mono-Pyro teams since her abilities are primarily designed to work with Pyro characters that can trigger the Burning reaction, making her less versatile in teams that lack Pyro elements. Emilie's primary strength lies in her high attack multipliers, which significantly boost her Dendro damage output when allies trigger the Burning reaction. She scales entirely on attack and does not provide any buffs to her team members. Her abilities include placing a Lumidouce Case on the ground that deals off-field Dendro damage to enemies, applying Dendro every 3 seconds. This Case can upgrade with Scents from nearby Burning enemies, increasing its damage. Her Elemental Burst creates a powerful Level 3 Lumidouce Case that deals significant damage, which then downgrades to a Level 1 Case after its duration.

Emilie’s Skills:

- Shadow-Hunting Spear (Normal Attack):

Emilie executes a series of four spear strikes. Her charged attack involves an upward slash, while her plunging attack damages enemies along its path and causes area-of-effect (AoE) damage upon impact.

- Fragrance Extraction (Skill):

Emilie deploys a Lumidouce Case that deals AoE Dendro damage and inflicts Dendro on enemies. The Case periodically releases Puffs of Puredew at nearby opponents, causing Dendro damage. Enemies affected by Burning will emit Scents every 2 seconds, which the Lumidouce Case collects. After gathering 2 Scents, the Case levels up, firing an additional Puff with increased damage. Only one Lumidouce Case created by Emilie can exist at a time, starting at Level 1 and maxing out at Level 2. If no Scents are collected for 8 seconds, the Case reverts to Level 1.

- Aromatic Explication (Elemental Burst):

Emilie harnesses the gathered fragrances, converting them into pure Dendro energy to create a Level 3 Lumidouce Case while stowing away any existing Cases. The Level 3 Case does not collect Scents but continuously rains Scented Dew on enemies within range, dealing Dendro damage. One drop of Scented Dew descends every 0.3 seconds, targeting one enemy every 0.7 seconds. After the duration ends, a Level 1 Lumidouce Case is recreated. If a Case was stowed away during this burst, it will be redeployed with its duration reset. While the Elemental Burst is active, the Elemental Skill cannot create a new Lumidouce Case.

Emilie’s Passives:

- Headspace Shielding:

When Emilie's Lumidouce Case is active, all party members gain 85% resistance to Pyro damage from burning effects.

- Fragrant Discharge:

At Level 2, Lumidouce Case absorbs scents and releases Cleardew Cologne after collecting two scents, dealing area-of-effect Dendro damage equal to 600% of Emilie’s Attack.

- Damage Amplification:

Emilie’s attacks against burning enemies deal additional damage based on her Attack. For every 1,000 Attack, her damage increases by 15%, up to a maximum of 36%.

Best Weapons for Emilie

The Lumidouce Elegy is an ideal weapon for Emilie's build, enhancing her performance significantly. It boosts damage when Burning is triggered nearby or when Dendro damage is dealt to burning enemies. This weapon also provides exceptional Energy Regeneration for Emilie, enabling her to use her Burst ability every two rotations without needing additional Energy Regen stats.

Besides Lumidouce Elegy, the Staff of Homa and the Staff of Scarlet Sands are excellent 5-star weapon choices. For 4-star weapons, Death Match stands out as a top pick, while Missive Windspear is the best free-to-play option for Emilie.

Best Artifacts for Emilie

- 4-piece set of Unfinished Reverie

- 4-piece set of Deepwood Memories

- 4-piece set of Golden Troupe

The Unfinished Reverie set is highly recommended for Emilie’s build since it boosts Attack by 18% and significantly enhances the damage dealt by the wearer when the Burning reaction is triggered nearby. The Deepwood Memories set is also a strong choice for Emilie, as it boosts Dendro Damage and lowers the Dendro resistance of enemies. Additionally, the Golden Troupe artifact set can be effective if it has good sub-stats.
