The much-anticipated Genshin Impact 5.1 Special Program livestream has delivered a bunch of exciting news, leaving us buzzing with anticipation. From new characters and story developments to upcoming events and generous rewards, Version 5.1 promises to keep Travelers engaged. In this article, we’ll delve into the key highlights revealed during the livestream, including fresh game content, updates to the storyline, and the coveted redemption codes shared by the developers.

New Characters and Skills

The highlight of Version 5.1 is undoubtedly the debut of new characters, starting with the 5-Star Geo Sword wielder Xilonen leading the charge and looking incredible. She is said to be a famous smith from the Children of Echos, one of the Natlan’s six tribes. She can forge all kind of goods such as jewelry, vehicles, weapons. She created the Pyro Archon’s sunglasses and kachina’s drill “Turbo Twrily” and we will be able to see more of her work including the weapons of some of new upcoming Natlan Characters. Her skill set seem to be very convenient in exploration as we were able to get a glimpse of how she made climbing look very easy.

When it comes to her battle mechanics, she is equipped with three Geo samplers crafted by herself and their element and color can change when we add other Hydro, Pyro, Cryo or Electro charcters to our party. Attacking enemies with normal attacks will build up Nightsoul points when Xilonen has at least two samplers of an element, other than Geo. The samplers will be activated when Those points are at their maximum level that reduces the corresponding elemental resistances of nearby enemies. Which means her abilities would work best when there are at least two different elemental characters in our party and once we have our optimal team, all we have to do is activate the Nightsoul’s Blessing and max out her Nightsoal points. Xilonen also works great with multiple Geo characters, because her normal and plunging attacks deal greater damage instead of rapidly accumulating Nightsoul points if her samplers are aligned with GEO. Also, when Xilonen is in our party, triggering a Nightsoul Transmission with one of our party members will allow them to regain a set amount of Philogiston. Her elemental burst deals AoE Geo damage and if she has at least two samplers of an element other than Geo, thwn her burst will restore HP to active characters at set intervals

While she is the only new playable character arriving in this update, she’s set to shake up the meta with her versatile support capabilities. In addition to Xilonen, two other characters were introduced in the livestream, Citlali, a 5-Star Cryo Catalyst user, and Ororon, a 4-Star Electro Bow character who is going to help us fight the abyss. Though they won’t be playable in 5.1, they play a significant role in the continuation of Natlan’s Archon Quest. Archon Quest act III and IV will be avialble during the version 5.1 and these arcs will focus on finding a way to forge the Travelers ancient name.

Additionally, a new World Boss, the Secret Source Constructor, will be introduced in this update. This formidable foe will drop the materials required for ascending Xilonen, giving players more incentive to challenge this fresh content.

Event Banners and Hu Tao's Return

The event banners for Version 5.1 feature beloved characters. In the first half of the patch, Xilonen and Chiori headline the event banners, along with a new 5-star sword, Peak Patrol Song. The second half sees the return of Hu Tao and Nahida. Several new 4-star weapons will also be added.

New Events and Items

The livestream introduced a series of exciting events that are sure to capture players’ attention. One of the fisrt events mentioned was The Apid Treasures Trace, where we will work together with Xilonen to capture phloiston monsters by weakening them and claim rewards. One of the most exciting major events in this update is Chromatic Ode of Candles and Roses, where we are going to be the celebrating Nahida’s Birthday. It is a long awaited, particularly special moment for players and this event is expected to be filled with heartfelt moments and exclusive rewards.

Nahida also plays a central role in the upcoming Sabzeruz Festival, where players can earn a free copy of Candace. We can look forward to 3 different type of gameplay during this event: in the first one, we are going to be taking a parade simulator for a spin during the event “rocking Carriage” where we will need to control the direction of it to avoid the obstacles while gathering as many flowers as possible. And in the second event “Interreflection of Reality and Dreams” we have to spot some differences between the anomalies and fix them. Then lastly the third event “Shadow of the knight’s Blade” is a combat event with some extra challenges.

Then we have the Feast of Pursuit, another combat event with some challenges and Reminiscent Regiment Thrill where we will go into co-op and each player will need to select buffs before going into boss fights. Its all about optimizing your team. Moreover, in version 5.1 Genius Invokation TCG will also intoduce new characters, monsters and action cards. Additionally, Liben is coming back and we can again exchange our items for Promogms and level up materials.New Envisaged Echos will also be added and players can now obtain Echos for Zhogli and Keqing.

Rewards, Redemption Codes, and Goodies

Just as the last time we can claim 500 Primogems for completing Archon quest and Extra rewards will also be available for exploring Natlan during 5.1. One of the most exciting updates for players is the new reward structure tied to exploration. For a limited time, players will earn 100 Primogems for every 20% exploration progress they achieve in a newly released zone, up to a total of 400 Primogems. This system will roll out with future map expansions, but players should act quickly as the offer is only available for a limited period (versions of 5.1 and 5.2). As Xilonen’s tribal Quest is going to available, we believe that would allow us to complete the final chapter of Children of the Echos tribe. By completing this quest, we can claim extra Primogems and level up materials similar to the ones given away to ascend Mualani and Kinich.

As is tradition with Genshin Impact Special Programs, the 5.1 livestream didn't disappoint in terms of freebies. Several new redemption codes were shared, granting players access to a trove of Primogems and other useful in-game resources. 5.1 Primogem Summary:

Quality of Life Changes

To be honest, the new quality of life changes are looking great. First, we have artifact filters now remembered by each character and their artifact piece individually no matter how many times we exit or leave the menu. We can also remove these filters if we want and set new ones as needed. Another change is coming for he crafting bench with how now we can setup ascension, skill or even weapons material planner that will show us exactly how many materials we have and still need to ascend to level up the character or weapon

With the abyss also changing, a skip feature will be added and starting from October 16th, if we have beaten floor 12 with all stars, then we can immediately skip floors 9 and 10 to claim their rewards. If you have been only managed to beat floor 11 with all stars then you can only skip floor 9 and gain its rewards. And those artifact loot boxes can now be opened in batch quantities, instead of going through one by one. Additionally, there are few minor changes like Trounce Domain will be sorted from newest to oldest and a small optimization was made to commission tab when you open the tab.
